Sirach 14:18
Good News Translation
Human beings are like leaves on a spreading tree. New growth takes the place of the fallen leaves; while some of us die, others are being born.

New Revised Standard Version
Like abundant leaves on a spreading tree that sheds some and puts forth others, so are the generations of flesh and blood: one dies and another is born.

Contemporary English Version
Generations pass away, and others are born to take their place, just as new leaves on a tall tree replace those that fall.

New American Bible
As with the leaves growing on a luxuriant tree— one falls off and another sprouts— So with the generations of flesh and blood: one dies and another flourishes.

Douay-Rheims Bible
All flesh shall fade as grass, and as the leaf that springeth out on a green tree.
