2 Maccabees 9:13
Good News Translation
The time of the Lord's mercy had come to an end for Antiochus, but this worthless man made the Lord a promise:

Then the abominable fellow made a vow to the Lord, who would no longer have mercy on him, stating

The Lord refused to be merciful to Antiochus any longer, even though this disgusting man made the following promises to the Lord:
