2 Maccabees 7:22
Good News Translation
"I do not know how your life began in my womb," she would say, "I was not the one who gave you life and breath and put together each part of your body.

“I do not know how you came into being in my womb. It was not I who gave you life and breath, nor I who set in order the elements within each of you.

My son, I don't understand how you grew inside me. I am not the one who gave you life and breath or shaped your bodies.

Now Antiochus, thinking himself despised, and withal despising the voice of the upbraider, when the youngest was yet alive, did not only exhort him by words, but also assured him with an oath, that he would make him a rich and a happy man, and, if he would turn from the laws of his fathers, would take him for a friend, and furnish him with things necessary.
