2 Maccabees 15:1
Good News Translation
Nicanor learned that Judas and his men were in the region of Samaria, and so he decided to attack them on a Sabbath, when he could do so without any danger to himself.

When Nicanor heard that Judas and his troops were in the region of Samaria, he made plans to attack them with complete safety on the day of rest.

Nicanor was told that Judas had led our army to the region of Samaria. So Nicanor planned to attack on the Sabbath, when we would not fight back.
