2 Maccabees 12:19
Good News Translation
Two of Judas' generals, Dositheus and Sosipater, attacked the garrison and killed all 10,000 men stationed there.

New Revised Standard Version
Dositheus and Sosipater, who were captains under Maccabeus, marched out and destroyed those whom Timothy had left in the stronghold, more than ten thousand men.

Contemporary English Version
So Judas gave orders for Dositheus and Sosipater to take some of the Jewish troops and attack the fortress. They were successful and killed more than 10,000 of the soldiers left there by Timothy.

But Dositheus and Sosipater, two of Maccabeus’ captains, marched out and destroyed the force of more than ten thousand men that Timothy had left in the stronghold.
