Good News Translation
Judas turned aside to Azotus in Philistia. He pulled down the altars, burned the images of their gods, plundered their towns, and then returned to Judea.

But Judas turned aside to Azotus in the land of the Philistines; he tore down their altars, and the carved images of their gods he burned with fire; he plundered the towns and returned to the land of Judah.

Judas and his troops turned aside into the territory of Azotus, where they tore down the altars and burned the wooden idols. Then they attacked and robbed some nearby towns before returning to Judea.
