Good News Translation
"Have mercy on us," they begged. "Don't punish us as we deserve!"

they said, “Do not treat us according to our wicked acts but according to your mercy.”

saying, "We've done wrong and deserve to be punished. But please have mercy on us."

They said, “Treat us not according to our evil deeds but according to your mercy.”
