Good News Translation
Over the tomb of his father and his brothers Simon built a high monument that could be seen from a great distance. It was covered front and back with polished stone.

And Simon built a monument over the tomb of his father and his brothers; he made it high so that it might be seen, with polished stone at the front and back.

Contemporary English Version
Simon had a tall stone monument built over his family grave. It was shiny on the front and back, and could be seen a long way off.

Then Simon erected over the tomb of his father and his brothers a monument of stones, polished front and back, and raised high enough to be seen at a distance.
