Attalia
Attalia

Attalia, a seaport of Pamphylia, near Perga, is mentioned in Acts 1425. It was founded in the second century B. C. by Attalus II, a king of Pergamon, who named the city Attaleai after himself. On Paul's first missionary journey, Paul and Barnabas sailed home to Antioch in Syria from Attalia. It was a key city in the Mediterranean region of Pamphylia.
