1. properly, a hearing amiss (Plato, epistles 7, p. 341 b.).

2. (unwillingness to hear i. e.) disobedience: Romans 5:19; 2 Corinthians 10:6; Hebrews 2:2. (Cf. Trench, § lxvi.)
