ἴσως (ἴσος, which see), adverb (from Sophocles down);

1. equally, in like manner.

2. agreeably to expectation, i. e. it may be, probably; frequently an urbane expression of one's reasonable hope (German wohl,hoffentlich): Luke 20:13, and often in Attic writings.
