STRONGS NT 11: Ἀβραάμ

Ἀβραάμ (Rec.t Ἁβραάμ; cf. Tdf. Proleg., p. 106) (Josephus, Ἄβραμος, ), אַבְרָהָם (father of a multitude, cf. Genesis 17:5), Abraham, the renowned founder of the Jewish nation: Matthew 1:1; Matthew 22:32; Luke 19:9; John 8:33; Acts 3:25; Hebrews 7:1ff, and elsewhere. He is extolled by the apostle Paul as a pattern of faith, Romans 4:1ff; Romans 4:17ff; Galatians 3:6 (cf. Hebrews 11:8), on which account all believers in Christ have a claim to the title sons or posterity of Abraham, Galatians 3:7, 29; cf. Romans 4:11.
