Isaiah 53:1-12 Who has believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?… 1. Look to all the promises, whether of pardon of sin, peace with God, joy in the Holy Ghost, holiness and conformity to God — there is no access to these, or to any of them, but by faith. 2. Look to the performance of any duty, or mortification of any lust or idol, and faith is necessary to that. 3. Whenever any duty is done, there is no acceptation of it without faith (Hebrews 4:2; Hebrews 11:6). (J. Durham.)
