Job 2:3 And the LORD said to Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man… 1. That Satan is an earnest and importunate solicitor against the people and Church of God. 2. That pure, or rather impure, malice stirreth Satan against the people of God. 3. That God doth afflict His people sometimes without respect unto their sins. Thou didst move Me against him without cause. 4. That God will at the last give testimony for the clearing of the innocency of His servants against all Satan's malicious accusations. (J. Caryl.) Parallel Verses KJV: And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. |
