Wesley's Notes on the Bible 10:1 Now - That ye may not become reprobates, consider how highly favoured your fathers were, who were God's elect and peculiar people, and nevertheless were rejected by him. They were all under the cloud - That eminent token of God's gracious presence, which screened them from the heat of the sun by day, and gave them light by night. And all passed through the sea - God opening a way through the midst of the waters. Exod 13:21 Exod 14:22 1 Corinthians 10:1 Parallel Commentaries

Exodus 13:21 The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night. Exodus 14:22 So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side! Exodus 14:29 But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, as the water stood up like a wall on both sides. Numbers 9:18 In this way, they traveled and camped at the LORD's command wherever he told them to go. Then they remained in their camp as long as the cloud stayed over the Tabernacle. Nehemiah 9:11 You divided the sea for your people so they could walk through on dry land! And then you hurled their enemies into the depths of the sea. They sank like stones beneath the mighty waters. Psalm 66:6 He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. Psalm 105:39 The LORD spread a cloud above them as a covering and gave them a great fire to light the darkness.
