Rothe
Rothe, Johann Andreas, a German clergyman, the son of Rev. Aegidius Rothe, was born at Lissa May 12, 1688; educated at the University of Leipzig, taking the degree of M.A. in 1712. Soon after this he was licensed to preach. In 1722 [96]Count Zinzendorf gave him the pastorate at Berthelsdorf, where he remained many years. Herrnhut was a part of his parish. In 1737 he resigned this pastorate and became a Lutheran minister. He died July 6, 1758.
