Woe to the Oppressors

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning's light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it.1Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil on their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand.1Woe to those who scheme iniquity, Who work out evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, For it is in the power of their hands.1Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.1Woe to those who dream up wickedness and prepare evil plans on their beds! At morning light they accomplish it because the power is in their hands.
2They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them. They defraud people of their homes, they rob them of their inheritance.2They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them away; they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.2They covet fields and then seize them, And houses, and take them away. They rob a man and his house, A man and his inheritance.2And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.2They covet fields and seize them; they also take houses. They deprive a man of his home, a person of his inheritance.
3Therefore, the LORD says: "I am planning disaster against this people, from which you cannot save yourselves. You will no longer walk proudly, for it will be a time of calamity.3Therefore thus says the LORD: behold, against this family I am devising disaster, from which you cannot remove your necks, and you shall not walk haughtily, for it will be a time of disaster.3Therefore thus says the LORD, "Behold, I am planning against this family a calamity From which you cannot remove your necks; And you will not walk haughtily, For it will be an evil time.3Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.3Therefore, the LORD says: I am now planning a disaster against this nation; you cannot free your necks from it. Then you will not walk so proudly because it will be an evil time.
4In that day people will ridicule you; they will taunt you with this mournful song: 'We are utterly ruined; my people's possession is divided up. He takes it from me! He assigns our fields to traitors.'"4In that day they shall take up a taunt song against you and moan bitterly, and say, “We are utterly ruined; he changes the portion of my people; how he removes it from me! To an apostate he allots our fields.”4"On that day they will take up against you a taunt And utter a bitter lamentation and say, 'We are completely destroyed! He exchanges the portion of my people; How He removes it from me! To the apostate He apportions our fields.'4In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.4In that day one will take up a taunt against you, and lament mournfully, saying," We are totally ruined! He measures out the allotted land of my people. How He removes it from me! He allots our fields to traitors."
5Therefore you will have no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by lot.5Therefore you will have none to cast the line by lot in the assembly of the LORD.5"Therefore you will have no one stretching a measuring line For you by lot in the assembly of the LORD.5Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.5Therefore, there will be no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by casting lots."

The False Prophets

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
6"Do not prophesy," their prophets say. "Do not prophesy about these things; disgrace will not overtake us."6“Do not preach”—thus they preach— “one should not preach of such things; disgrace will not overtake us.”6Do not speak out,' so they speak out. But if they do not speak out concerning these things, Reproaches will not be turned back.6Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.6Quit your preaching," they preach." They should not preach these things; shame will not overtake us."
7You descendants of Jacob, should it be said, "Does the LORD become impatient? Does he do such things?" "Do not my words do good to the one whose ways are upright?7Should this be said, O house of Jacob? Has the LORD grown impatient? Are these his deeds? Do not my words do good to him who walks uprightly?7"Is it being said, O house of Jacob: 'Is the Spirit of the LORD impatient? Are these His doings?' Do not My words do good To the one walking uprightly?7O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?7House of Jacob, should it be asked," Is the Spirit of the LORD impatient? Are these the things He does?" Don't My words bring good to the one who walks uprightly?
8Lately my people have risen up like an enemy. You strip off the rich robe from those who pass by without a care, like men returning from battle.8But lately my people have risen up as an enemy; you strip the rich robe from those who pass by trustingly with no thought of war.8"Recently My people have arisen as an enemy-- You strip the robe off the garment From unsuspecting passers-by, From those returned from war.8Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.8But recently My people have risen up like an enemy: You strip off the splendid robe from those who are passing through confidently, like those returning from war.
9You drive the women of my people from their pleasant homes. You take away my blessing from their children forever.9The women of my people you drive out from their delightful houses; from their young children you take away my splendor forever.9"The women of My people you evict, Each one from her pleasant house. From her children you take My splendor forever.9The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.9You force the women of My people out of their comfortable homes, and you take My blessing from their children forever.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
10Get up, go away! For this is not your resting place, because it is defiled, it is ruined, beyond all remedy.10Arise and go, for this is no place to rest, because of uncleanness that destroys with a grievous destruction.10"Arise and go, For this is no place of rest Because of the uncleanness that brings on destruction, A painful destruction.10Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.10Get up and leave, for this is not your place of rest, because defilement brings destruction-- a grievous destruction!
11If a liar and deceiver comes and says, 'I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer,' that would be just the prophet for this people!11If a man should go about and utter wind and lies, saying, “I will preach to you of wine and strong drink,” he would be the preacher for this people!11"If a man walking after wind and falsehood Had told lies and said, 'I will speak out to you concerning wine and liquor,' He would be spokesman to this people.11If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.11If a man of wind comes and invents lies:" I will preach to you about wine and beer," he would be just the preacher for this people!

The Remnant of Israel

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
12"I will surely gather all of you, Jacob; I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel. I will bring them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in its pasture; the place will throng with people.12I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob; I will gather the remnant of Israel; I will set them together like sheep in a fold, like a flock in its pasture, a noisy multitude of men.12"I will surely assemble all of you, Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel. I will put them together like sheep in the fold; Like a flock in the midst of its pasture They will be noisy with men.12I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.12I will indeed gather all of you, Jacob; I will collect the remnant of Israel. I will bring them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in the middle of its fold. It will be noisy with people.
13The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD at their head."13He who opens the breach goes up before them; they break through and pass the gate, going out by it. Their king passes on before them, the LORD at their head.13"The breaker goes up before them; They break out, pass through the gate and go out by it. So their king goes on before them, And the LORD at their head."13The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.13One who breaks open the way will advance before them; they will break out, pass through the gate, and leave by it. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD as their leader.
