and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him."2saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”2"Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him."2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.2saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him."
When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.3When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him;3When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.3When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.3When King Herod heard this, he was deeply disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.

"In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written:5They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet:5They said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea; for this is what has been written by the prophet:5And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,5In Bethlehem of Judea," they told him, "because this is what was written by the prophet:
"'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.'"6“‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’”6'AND YOU, BETHLEHEM, LAND OF JUDAH, ARE BY NO MEANS LEAST AMONG THE LEADERS OF JUDAH; FOR OUT OF YOU SHALL COME FORTH A RULER WHO WILL SHEPHERD MY PEOPLE ISRAEL.'"6And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.6And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the leaders of Judah: because out of you will come a leader who will shepherd My people Israel."
Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.7Then Herod summoned the wise men secretly and ascertained from them what time the star had appeared.7Then Herod secretly called the magi and determined from them the exact time the star appeared.7Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.7Then Herod secretly summoned the wise men and asked them the exact time the star appeared.
He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."8And he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship him.”8And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the Child; and when you have found Him, report to me, so that I too may come and worship Him."8And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.8He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the child. When you find Him, report back to me so that I too can go and worship Him."
After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.9After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was.9After hearing the king, they went their way; and the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the Child was.9When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.9After hearing the king, they went on their way. And there it was--the star they had seen in the east! It led them until it came and stopped above the place where the child was.

On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. 12And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.12And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way.12And having been warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, the magi left for their own country by another way.12And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.12And being warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their own country by another route.

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him."13Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.”13Now when they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Get up! Take the child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. For Herod is about to search for the child to destroy Him."
So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,14And he rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed to Egypt14So Joseph got up and took the Child and His mother while it was still night, and left for Egypt.14When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:14So he got up, took the child and His mother during the night, and escaped to Egypt.
where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my son."15and remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called my son.”15He remained there until the death of Herod. 16When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.16Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men.16Then when Herod saw that he had been tricked by the magi, he became very enraged, and sent and slew all the male children who were in Bethlehem and all its vicinity, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the magi.16Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.16Then Herod, when he saw that he had been outwitted by the wise men, flew into a rage. He gave orders to massacre all the male children in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, in keeping with the time he had learned from the wise men.

and said, "Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child's life are dead."20saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child’s life are dead.”20"Get up, take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child's life are dead."20Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.20saying, "Get up! Take the child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, because those who sought the child's life are dead."
So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.21And he rose and took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.21So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.21And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.21So he got up, took the child and His mother, and entered the land of Israel.
But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,22But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream he withdrew to the district of Galilee.22But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Then after being warned by God in a dream, he left for the regions of Galilee,22But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:22But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned in a dream, he withdrew to the region of Galilee.
and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.23And he went and lived in a city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene.23and came and lived in a city called Nazareth. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets: "He shall be called a Nazarene."23And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.23Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets, that He will be called a Nazarene.
