John the Baptist Baptizes Jesus
Interwoven Gospels

Now it came to pass in those days, when all the people were baptized, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. But John earnestly restrained Him, saying, "I have need to be baptized by Thee, and dost Thou come to me?" But Jesus answering said to him, "Let it be so now; for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented to do it, baptizing Jesus in the Jordan River. When Jesus came up immediately out of the water, He prayed and behold, He saw the heavens rent asunder and opened to Him, and the Spirit of God descending in a bodily form like a dove, coming upon Him; and lo, a voice came out of the heavens, saying, "Thou art My beloved Son; in Thee I am well pleased." When Jesus began His ministry, He was about thirty years old.
