Birth of Jesus
Interwoven Gospels

Now it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the inhabited earth should be registered. This registration was first made when Quirinius was governor of Syria. And all went to be registered, each one to his own city.

Then Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to register himself with Mary, who was betrothed to him, being with child. Now it came to pass, while they were there, the days were fulfilled for her to be delivered; and she brought forth her son, the firstborn, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
