Jesus Appears at the Sea of Galilee

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee. It happened this way:1After this Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias, and he revealed himself in this way.1After these things Jesus manifested Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and He manifested Himself in this way.1After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.1After this, Jesus revealed Himself again to His disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. He revealed Himself in this way:
Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.2Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.2Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.2There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.2Simon Peter, Thomas (called "Twin"), Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, Zebedee's sons, and two others of His disciples were together."
"I'm going out to fish," Simon Peter told them, and they said, "We'll go with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.3Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.3Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will also come with you." They went out and got into the boat; and that night they caught nothing.3Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.3I'm going fishing," Simon Peter said to them." We're coming with you," they told him. They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.
Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.4Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.4But when the day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.4But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.4When daybreak came, Jesus stood on the shore. However, the disciples did not know it was Jesus.

He called out to them, "Friends, haven't you any fish?" "No," they answered.5Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered him, “No.”5So Jesus said to them, "Children, you do not have any fish, do you?" They answered Him, "No."5Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.5"Men," Jesus called to them, "you don't have any fish, do you?"" No," they answered.
He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.6He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish.6And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch." So they cast, and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish.6And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.6"Cast the net on the right side of the boat," He told them, "and you'll find some." So they did, and they were unable to haul it in because of the large number of fish.
Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, "It is the Lord," he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water.7That disciple whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea.7Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord." So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on (for he was stripped for work), and threw himself into the sea.7Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.7Therefore the disciple, the one Jesus loved, said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he tied his outer garment around him (for he was stripped) and plunged into the sea.
The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.8The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off.8But the other disciples came in the little boat, for they were not far from the land, but about one hundred yards away, dragging the net full of fish.8And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.8But since they were not far from land (about 100 yards away), the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish.
When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.9When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread.9So when they got out on the land, they saw a charcoal fire already laid and fish placed on it, and bread.9As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.9When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish lying on it, and bread.

Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught."10Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.”10Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish which you have now caught."10Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.10"Bring some of the fish you've just caught," Jesus told them.
So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn.11So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn.11Simon Peter went up and drew the net to land, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not torn.11Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.11So Simon Peter got up and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish--153 of them. Even though there were so many, the net was not torn.
Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord.12Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord.12Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples ventured to question Him, "Who are You?" knowing that it was the Lord.12Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.12"Come and have breakfast," Jesus told them. None of the disciples dared ask Him, "Who are You?" because they knew it was the Lord.
Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.13Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish.13Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish likewise.13Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.13Jesus came, took the bread, and gave it to them. He did the same with the fish.
This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.14This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.14This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after He was raised from the dead.14This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.14This was now the third time Jesus appeared to the disciples after He was raised from the dead.

Jesus Reinstates Peter

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."15When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”15So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My lambs."15So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.15When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?"" Yes, Lord," he said to Him, "You know that I love You." "Feed My lambs," He told him.
Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."16He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.”16He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Shepherd My sheep."16He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.16A second time He asked him, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?"" Yes, Lord," he said to Him, "You know that I love You." "Shepherd My sheep," He told him.
The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.17He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.17He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Tend My sheep.17He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.17He asked him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved that He asked him the third time, "Do you love Me?" He said, "Lord, You know everything! You know that I love You." "Feed My sheep," Jesus said.
Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go."18Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.”18"Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to go."18Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.18"I assure you: When you were young, you would tie your belt and walk wherever you wanted. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will tie you and carry you where you don't want to go."
Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!"19(This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, “Follow me.”19Now this He said, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me!"19This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.19He said this to signify by what kind of death he would glorify God. After saying this, He told him, "Follow Me!"

Jesus and the Beloved Apostle

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is going to betray you?")20Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them, the one who also had leaned back against him during the supper and had said, “Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?”20Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them; the one who also had leaned back on His bosom at the supper and said, "Lord, who is the one who betrays You?"20Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?20So Peter turned around and saw the disciple Jesus loved following them. That disciple was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and asked, "Lord, who is the one that's going to betray You?"
When Peter saw him, he asked, "Lord, what about him?"21When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?”21So Peter seeing him said to Jesus, "Lord, and what about this man?"21Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?21When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord--what about him?"
Jesus answered, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me."22Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!”22Jesus said to him, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!"22Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.22"If I want him to remain until I come," Jesus answered, "what is that to you? As for you, follow Me."
Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?"23So the saying spread abroad among the brothers that this disciple was not to die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he was not to die, but, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?”23Therefore this saying went out among the brethren that that disciple would not die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but only, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?"23Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?23So this report spread to the brothers that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not tell him that he would not die, but, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?"

This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.24This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true.24This is the disciple who is testifying to these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.24This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.24This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.
Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.25Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.25And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.25And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.25And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which, if they were written one by one, I suppose not even the world itself could contain the books that would be written.
