Teaching Sound Doctrine

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.1But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.1But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.1But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:1But you must say the things that are consistent with sound teaching.
2Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.2Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.2Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.2That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.2Older men are to be level headed, worthy of respect, sensible, and sound in faith, love, and endurance.
3Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.3Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,3Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;3In the same way, older women are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not addicted to much wine. They are to teach what is good,
4Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children,4and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,4so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,4so they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and to love their children,

5to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.5to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.5to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.5to be self-controlled, pure, homemakers, kind, and submissive to their husbands, so that God's message will not be slandered.
6Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.6Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.6Likewise urge the young men to be sensible;6Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.6In the same way, encourage the young men to be self-controlled
7In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness7Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity,7in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified,7In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,7in everything. Make yourself an example of good works with integrity and dignity in your teaching.
8and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.8and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.8sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.8Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.8Your message is to be sound beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be ashamed, having nothing bad to say about us.
9Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,9Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,9Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,9Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;9Slaves are to be submissive to their masters in everything, and to be well-pleasing, not talking back
10and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.10not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.10not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.10Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.10or stealing, but demonstrating utter faithfulness, so that they may adorn the teaching of God our Savior in everything.

God's Grace Brings Salvation

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
11For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,11For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people,
12It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,12training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,12instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;12instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age,
13while we wait for the blessed hope--the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,13waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,13looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;13while we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.14who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.14He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people for His own possession, eager to do good works.
15These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.15Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.15These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.15These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.15Say these things, and encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
